Thanks to its unique location at the northern tip of Michigan’s “thumb” the tiny village of Port Austin is a great place to catch both the sunrise and the sunset over Lake Huron. On Saturdays during the summertime, the adjacent Port Austin Farmer’s Market draws big crowds to purchase produce, crafts, flowers and snacks from more than 50 local vendors. The nearby Beachcomber Motel gets repeat guests who come for the lakeside swimming pool and private beach.
