The Monument Rocks is a series of chalk formations in Gove County, between Kansas and Colorado. Also known as the Chalk Pyramids, these 70-ft-tall stones are an impressive result of geological actions that occurred more than 80 million years ago when the region was entirely underwater.
The Monument Rocks also contain fossils and prehistoric remnants, so climbing and touching are strictly prohibited. Be sure to keep your camera packed for this landmark, as it’s one of the 8 wonders of Kansas.
