Omaha’s former Union Station is a fitting location to house the Durham Museum. The museum is dedicated to highlighting the rich history of Nebraska and the western region of the US. The building is recognized as a National Historic Landmark and well-preserved in its original state.
The Durham Museum holds a vast collection of artifacts and archives that provide a detailed look at the region’s history. You’ll be amazed by the building in Art Deco style, which is a piece of history in itself. Many of the exhibition halls cover themes like history, science, industrial progress, and culture.
Head down to the track level to enter the Trish and Dick Davidson Gallery. It’s one of the most comprehensive exhibits featuring vintage trains and replica storefronts. The museum also houses a photo archive with more than one million photos.
